eClinicalHealth was founded by a core team of innovators and eClinical pioneers. The team set out with the ambitious plan of not creating ‘yet another system’, but to build something to truly transform clinical trials to be more modern, efficient and patient-centric. Thus, the Clinpal platform was born and has since been received with great enthusiasm in the industry. Today, the platform is already transforming clinical trials and in use in studies ranging from very small (50 patients) to very large (10,000+ patients). Clinpal has been adopted by several organizations, ranging from patient recruitment companies and research institutions to several top 10 pharmaceutical companies.
Below is the core team responsible for the development of a new kind of a cloud platform targeting site and patient engagement that fits in any existing infrastructure and is suitable for clinical trials across all therapeutic areas and study phases. Karl is the CEO and investor in eClinicalHealth, as well as the Chairman of the Board and an advisor to Clinpal and key customers. Karl’s career started at IBM in 1985. He was the founder of the IBM ClinWare Solution Unit, one of the first EDC systems for clinical trials in the mid-nineties. Between 1998 and 2001 he worked at Novartis as Chief Information Officer. His career continued at Credit Suisse, where he assumed several senior leadership positions in IT. He became CIO of the Group in 2008 and was a Member of the Executive Board of Credit-Suisse until 2012. In his functions at Credit-Suisse he oversaw hundreds of global change programs. In 2012 and 2013 Karl advised the Chairman of Credit-Suisse in setting up an innovation program for the firm. After retiring from Credit-Suisse in March 2013 Karl focused on a portfolio of investments in start-up companies, continues to advise Senior Leaders and is a Non-Executive director in technology companies. As of November 2015 Karl has taken on the role of CEO and dedicates his energy to eClinicalHealth where he defines and manages the direction of the company as well as leading key client engagements.
QM, Operations & Transformation
Simon has spent the last 25 years driving life-sciences digital technology in the pharmaceutical sector. Before taking a role at eClinicalHealth, he led the global technology group supporting ~10,000 research professionals in Research and Development at GlaxoSmithKilne. His degrees in Computer Science and Business Administration facilitated his early career in IT and quality consulting in both the US and UK. Since then, Simon has steered to success hundreds of system developments and deployments in many countries, all to the highest levels of regulatory rigour while ensuring operational excellence once delivered.
Dr. Bobby Davey
Product Management and ISPO
With over 20 years’ experience, Bobby has considerable expertise spanning research, development, product and relationship management. He has a proven track record of innovation, strategic technology direction and delivery spanning multi-national companies and fast-moving new businesses. He is accustomed to leading multiple cross-functional teams in an international business context. He brings to eClinicalHealth an in-depth knowledge of the clinical trials, medical imaging, healthcare informatics, bioinformatics, software engineering and high-performance computing sectors.
Release Management and Testing, Helpdesk
After finishing his degree in Computer Studies, Paul worked for a number of software houses as a developer before working his way up to software project management, working on financial, business, scientific and pharmaceutical systems. He has managed a variety of IT teams of different sizes in multiple locations covering development, product management, testing and customer services. At eClinical Health Paul is responsible for ensuring product quality and reliability through thorough testing and client support, ensuring adherence to company processes and business standards, and timely product updated.
